World Autism Awareness Day at SSMC.

Significant progress has been achieved in the previous ten years to improve awareness and support for people with autism.

Studies reveal that many autistic children have been disproportionately impacted by changes to routines and the unavailability of support services that they depend on during the COVID-19 epidemic, due to the temporary closure of schools and support networks.

Join SSMC in reducing this impact through education and by supporting organisations that raise awareness for autism worldwide. One of these organisations is Walk for Autism, which encourages Australians to walk 10,000 steps a day for 8 days in support of autism awareness. 👍

One of the largest worldwide issues of the twenty-first century is advancing gender equality in the context of the climate catastrophe and ensuing disaster risk reduction.

As the majority of the world’s poor and those most reliant on the natural resources that climate change threatens, women are increasingly regarded as being more vulnerable to the effects of climate change than males.

South Steyne Medical Centre would like to remind you that Australia Day is this coming Thursday the 26th of January. South Steyne Medical Centre will be closed on Thursday the 26th of January (Australia Day). We will be reopening on Friday the 27th of January.

We would like to highlight that this day means a lot of different things for all members of our community, and that we will be reflecting on this as a team.

We hope to continue to provide an inclusive and safe place for people to fully realise their health potential, and key to this is making sure that all members of our community feel culturally safe when attending our clinic.
